Friday night Ruston Kelly brought his “Too Chill To Kill” tour to the Shelter in Detroit. The stage was set up with just a microphone, stool and piano and I was looking forward to an acoustic set. Promptly at 8pm Ruston took the stage and started with “Weeping Willow”. What followed was a great variety of covers, original songs from his previous albums as well as his latest release “The Weakness”.
In between he would tell the audience stories about the songs, his life, touring and song meanings.
