Flipturn with Odie Leigh

Louisville, KY

August 22nd, 2025

Florida indie rock band Flipturn brought their Burnout Days Tour to Louisville, KY on August 22nd to a packed house. The band is touring in support of their latest album, Burnout Days. It was the perfect evening for an outdoor show, with a hint of coolness in the air to keep everyone cooled down and they sang and danced their hearts out. I remember seeing Flipturn for the first time at Railbird Festival in Lexington, KY a few years back and being really impressed with their music and fun energy on stage-my favorite new musical find of that weekend. So, when I saw they were coming to Louisville for this tour I knew I had to go! They did not disappoint, with their upbeat and infectious energy that had the crowd moving from their first note. They were dancing around the stage and having a great time with each other and the crowd. They talked a bit between songs about their new album, as well as how much they were enjoying being in Louisville again and telling funny stories that had the crowd laughing. The band formed in 2015 and have grown their fan base quite a bit over the years, expressing their gratitude to the fans here this evening for their continued support. They played a nice mix of songs from their new album, along with older songs that had both older and newer fans alike singing along! Detroit-based indie folk artist Odie Leigh opened the show. She and her band mates got the crowd warmed up with a mix of songs that ranged from more acoustic vibes to harder-edged and upbeat tunes. She chatted quite a bit with the crowd and had everyone joining in the songs and laughing to jokes and funny stories! It was a great start to the evening and really fun night all around!
