On Tuesday, November 12th, Clairo brought her “Immunity” headline tour to the 9:30 club in D.C. Openers Hello Yellow, and Beabadoobee helped warm up the crowd for a night packed with emotion.
Coming off the release of her new album, the night was full of great songs both new and old. Clairo is the type of artist that is both genuine and enigmatic. She creates an allure around her music that welcomes you as soon as you get into it. The music she creates comes from a real place, and shows her listeners that it’s ok to be vulnerable. Clairo actively shows the audience that from vulnerability comes a deeper connection.
The one thing that stands out about Clairo is her ability to control a crowd with ease. Her prowess on stage is both impressive and enthralling. She’s an artist that doesn’t have to try too hard to entertain a crowd. It’s something that comes natural to her. I’ve been lucky enough to see her perform three times this year, and she only seems to be getting better. Looking forward to watching her musical journey unfold in the next decade.
