American pop dup Terror Jr, consisting of Lisa Vitale and David “Campa” Benjamin Singer-Vine, released their latest video for the song “Pretty” on January 18th.  The song is the first single off of their upcoming debut album, Unfortunately, Terror Jr, which will be released on January 25th.  The song explores the current realities of being a woman in today’s society, of living in a sexist society that shames women for their insecurities.  “It’s painful chasing something that inherently can’t last . . . But we all do it . . . And we shame ourselves for it . . . The never-ending cycle of vanity and fuckery . . . Rinse and repeat,” says the band.  The duo makes songs that are simultaneously danceable and political, giving their listeners a fun and upbeat feeling that won’t have them dwelling too long on the darker and thought-provoking lyrics.    The band emerged onto the scene in 2016 with their single “3 Strikes”, which was released through a Kylie Jenner lipgloss commercial.  They also released their EP Bop City that year, with 2017 seeing the release of the EPs Bop City 2: TerroRising and Bop City 3: The Girl Who Cried Purple to round out the trilogy. With over 190 million streams, 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify and a performance at Lollapalooza in 2018, the band has gained plenty of momentum over the years, receiving praise from The New York Times, Interview Magazine, V Magazine, Teen Vogue, High Snobbery, Pitchfork and The Fader.  You can follow the band and stay up-to-date with all upcoming tour dates and music via the following links.  Check out the video for pretty below.
