Gainbridge Fieldhouse
Indianpolis, Indiana
September 22nd, 2023
Making their way to Indianapolis, Indiana this past Friday evening, Greta Van Fleet played their second to last show on their Starcatcher tour. Surf Curse kicked off the night playing some of their hits such as “Freaks”, “Disco”. Front row fans were dancing along in preparation of what was up next.
Shortly after the lights dimmed and the curtain dropped, all four members of Greta Van Fleet where standing onstage in their show attire looking out amongst the crowd ready to put on one hell of a show. The band opened up with a hit of their new album, “The Falling Sky”. Fans all over the arena were singing at the top of their lungs.
About half way through the set, they went to the back of the arena to the b-stage to play “Tears of Rain”, “Waited All Your Life”, and “Black Smoke Rising” in an acoustic rendition. The crowd pulled out their phones and turned on their flashlights, swaying back and forth in unison. As the band made their way back to the mainstage, they passed out white roses and greeted fans. Such a special moment for so many people.
As Jake played a guitar solo, he walked towards the back of the stage where flames began to rise behind him. The crowd erupted with excitement. Looking around me, fans were in awe of how long the solo went on. Greta Van Fleet finished out the night with “Light My Love”, and “Farewell for Now”, which was the perfect way to wrap up the show.
If you get the chance to see Greta Van Fleet anytime soon, don’t miss the opportunity. They put on a rock show like no other.
