Aaron James is a fresh new face on the forefront of indie folk, wielding an acoustic guitar reminiscent of artists like Bon Iver and Iron & Wine. With a new EP, Hibernate, slated to release on September 7, his sound is fresh and new, but something familiar at the same time. His most recent single, “Kauri Wood,” released this past weekend, and is bound to make a splash. James’ vocals are very much in the same vein as early 2000s artist James Blunt, which will definitely ring a bell with listeners old and new.
