The Menzingers with Rodeo Boys, Cloud Nothings, and Microwave
The Salt Shed
November 25th, 2023
Celebrating their seventh studio album with a full US tour, The Menzingers made a stop to Chicago’s Salt Shed this weekend lending their East Coast flare to the Midwestern city. Some of It Was True was released via Epitaph Records on Friday the 13th of October, but the response has been anything but unlucky – From “There’s No Place In This World For Me,” the album’s first single released back in July, all the way to the full record release, the band’s vast audience has been receptive and outspokenly pleased.
It was no shock that their Saturday night Chicago show was as packed as it was, especially with support from Microwave who didn’t get to play their scheduled set at Riot Fest this year due to a rain delay. Cloud Nothings and Rodeo Boys, while both new to many attendees, struck a chord with the audience and undoubtedly carried on with a slew of new listeners.
Saturday served as a very successful marker of the tour’s halfway point – Fans in cities with upcoming dates of the tour would be remiss to sit this one out.
