This past weekend Neon Gold, the record label home to familiar faces such as Charli XCX and Tove Lo, celebrated their 10 year anniversary with a day of music at The Knockdown Center in Queens. Walking into the venue, an old glass factory restored as an events space, light leaked through tall windows surrounding the stage, and rows of fans (some of whom had been queuing since 6AM) could already be observed glued to the barricade in anticipation of Marina Diamandis’ first live show in years. In addition to this rare appearance, the event, entitled Neon Gold X, boasted an impressive lineup including a full-band acoustic set from St. Lucia, a performance from LPX (the moniker of Neon Gold co-founder Lizzy Plapinger), and an invigorating live show from Broods.
