American rock band Modest Mouse brought their Summer 2025 Tour to Paristown Hall on June 19th to a sold out crowd. You could feel the excitement in the air from the moment doors opened, with fans filling out every part of the venue, from the first floor to the second floor balcony. The band started in 1993 and has grown a large and passionate fan base over the past 30+ years, with fans this evening singing and dancing all night long! Starting things off with “Of Course We Know” from their 2015 album Strangers To Ourselves, the band played a nice mix of older songs and newer ones, satisfying newer and long-time fans alike. Modest Mouse is a fantastic live band, with singer Isaac Brock chatting a bit with the crowd throughout the evening, full of good humor and energy. The band, which has several member who play a variety of instruments, including banjo, upright bass, keys, and percussion, in addition to the guitar, drums, and bass. With a 14-song set list that included an additional 5-song encore, they played close to 2 hours, with the crowd buzzing with a fun and joyful energy throughout their set. Opening the show this evening was Built To Spill front man Doug Martsch, performing a solo set that was mellow and laid back, but one that still had the crowd’s rapt attention. With an acoustic set that was both intimate and commanding of attention, he put on a great performance and was a great opening for the evening. It was a great evening all around!
