Boy In Space releases new single “Drown”

Boy In Space has released his newest single,”Drown,” which highlights the life experiences that Robin Lundbäck puts into the cinematic lyrics on every Boy In Space track. Placing his masterfully-tender vocals over gentle piano, Lundbäck builds the hauntingly-heartbreaking journey through penetrating loss into an emotionally-charged confessional, as he candidly admits how the song’s subject sunk his ship, then let him drown.   “I was actually watching Friends on Netflix and I watched the episode where Ross and Rachel break up,”Lundbäck reflects on his inspiration for the song.  “I don’t know why, but it made me so irrationally sad.  It reminded me of when my parents got divorced when I was younger, and I felt like I had to put that energy somewhere… so I went into the studio and wrote “Drown” later that day.”  The song follows Boy In Space‘s previous singles which illustrate the intensities of youth, the cold sting of heartbreak, the suffocation of betrayal and the fiery passion of young love including “7UP” and “Cold”, which appeared on Spotify’s Fresh & Chill playlist – where Boy In Space appeared as the cover artist – as well as New Music Friday in 28 countries and Apple Music’s Best Of The Week playlist in 7 countries.  Since his debut release, Boy In Space has gathered nearly 11 million streams.  Boy In Space will be joining singer-songwriter Alec Benjamin on the “Caught In The Middle” European tour which kicks off on November 3rd in Helsinki, Finland and wraps on November 28th in Dublin, Ireland. Tickets are on sale now. You can find ticket links HERE.

The moniker “Boy In Space” itself is a metaphor for how he navigates and untangles these emotions. “I can be crazy and all over the place at times.  I was always the class clown in school and although I got along with everyone, I was never really at the top of the class,” he says. “So ‘Boy In Space‘ has a very literal meaning to it. Although my songs can be sad, if you meet me, you’ll find that I’m full of energy and actually pretty happy (most of the time).  So in a not so literal way, Boy In Space has become the space where I’m able to go to express those sad and darker feelings.”  You can follow Boy In Space and stay up-to-date on all upcoming artist, music and tour news via the following links:
