Simple Plan postpone Canadian tour with All Time Low, singer on vocal rest

simpleplanSimple Plan’s been forced to postpone their Canadian tour with All Time Low as vocalist Pierre Bouvier has been put on vocal rest. You can read the full message from the band below.

We are extremely disappointed to announce that we have to reschedule our Eastern Canadian tour dates to March next year.

While singing in the studio this week, Pierre started feeling pain in his vocal cords and consulted his voice doctor. After examination, Pierre was instructed to go on immediate vocal rest. He was also advised to refrain from singing for the next 4 weeks to avoid any permanent vocal cord damage.

After a gruelling touring and traveling schedule and playing over 100 headlining shows all over the world since “Taking One For The Team” came out last February, we all decided together as a band that taking this precautionary measure was the best course of action for the long-term health of Pierre and for our career.

We absolutely hate to not be able to play these shows and have to reschedule. Our Canadian shows are always extremely special to us and it really breaks our hearts to have to make this announcement. We hope you will understand the situation and the fact that we didn’t come to this conclusion lightly or easily. We know a lot of you had been looking forward to these shows for a very long time and that some people were traveling from all over the world to attend. We want to sincerely apologize to everyone who is disappointed or if we caused you any inconvenience.

We look forward to seeing at the shows next March and we thank you all for always supporting us, even in difficult situations like this. We also want to reassure you that with the proper rest, Pierre’s voice will be back to 100% and healthy again and that we will resume playing shows starting in Brazil in early December for our South American tour.
