Palaye Royale with Johnnie Guilbert and Rock & Skate

Mercury Ballroom

Louisville, KY

February 19th, 2025

Las Vegas rock band Palaye Royale brought their Death or Glory North American 2025 tour to Mercury Ballroom on February 19th for a nearly sold out show. Although with the amount of fans in attendance this evening, I would not be surprised if it ended up selling out! These guys deliver a high-energy and FUN performance and have grown a large and loyal fan base since forming in 2008. Remington Leith is a dynamic frontman who gives 110% on stage. The band is also comprised of his brothers Sebastian Danzig (guitar/keys) and Emerson Barrett (drums/piano), as well as touring members Dave Green (guitar) and Logan Baudean (bass). With plenty of interactions with each other on stage and engagement with the crowd, the band works hard to ensure their fans have a great time! The band started off their set with the title track from their latest album (released in August of last year), performing other new tracks, as well, including “Just My Type”, “Addicted To The Wicked and Twisted”, “Showbiz”, and “For You”. They also performed plenty of older tracks such as “You’ll Be Fine”, “Fucking With My Head”, “Lonely”, and “Little Bastards”.

Early on in the set, Leith told the crowd how this was the band’s first time headlining a show in KY, thanking everyone for coming out and for their support. The venue was buzzing with energy all night, with the band and crowd feeding off of each others energy. Leith took a moment towards the end of the set to thank all of their crew, as well as the fans, telling the crowd “All of you guys spent your money on us, you spent your time with us, and you spent your night with us! We love you so much! We can’t do this shit without you, so thank you!”. They ended their set with “Fever Dream”, with Leith telling the crowd “It’s been a long year. We lost our mother back in April but know she is watching from heaven tonight! So this one goes out to her! Sing along as loud as you can with us!”. They came back out for a 3-song encore that included “Dead To Me”, “Lonely”, and “Mr. Doctor Man”, which started out with a snippet of The Door’s “People Are Strange”. The encore saw Leith in the crowd, with him jumping off stage to jump into the crowd to sing amongst the fans and crowd-surf a bit. He also walked up to the balcony, climbed over the railing, and jumped back onto the stage in an impressive leap! After they finished their last song, Danzig left the crowd with a final message- “Thank you everybody! Be kind to one another, be safe, and if you can, call your mother.” Opening the show this evening were Rock & Skate and Johnnie Guilbert.
