Jerry Popiel premieres new track “Ten Miles”

Jerry Popiel is a singer/songwriter, guitarist, recording engineer, mandolinist, bassist, keyboardist and percussionist.  He performs primarily as an acoustic guitarist/singer, but sometimes with backing band Osage Orange.  He is also a member of indie rock bands The Chestertons, Vanishing Shores, Cat o’ Nines, Birdhouse Gourds and the ’70s tribute act Cowbell Fever, co-starring as mellow, long-haired guitarist Donny Europa.  He has performed as opening act for musicians such as Leon Russell, The Strawbs, Sister Hazel, The Fixx, Naked Eyes, Shawn Mullins, Clumsy Lovers, Mindy Smith, Ambrosia and Marty Willson-Piper (The Church) and as Blossom Music Center VIP club entertainment before James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt, Counting Crows, Matchbox 20, Dierks Bentley, Jimmy Buffett, Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers and Zac Brown Band.  Jerry appeared in the 2016 Fox Searchlight film “A Bigger Splash” with Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton and Dakota Johnson.  Jerry’s film and movie soundtrack debut, director/producer Eric Shiveley’s film “Everyone But You,” won the Best Composer Award at the Jackson Hole Film Festival in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, on June 9, 2008.  The film includes scenes with Jerry and three of his songs (“Irene,” “One Good Reason,” and “That Girl”).  The film also won the Emerging Artist Award at the Oxford International Film Festival.  He has also performed in several community theater productions and has been featured on Cleveland’s “Crooked River Groove” and “Words and Music” TV shows.  Today sees the release of his latest single “Ten Miles”.  “”Ten Miles” is a daring, down and dirty, folk rock song based on the immigration stories of my family lines from Europe, escaping oppressive regimes and unforgiving gendarmes in the nick of time to find a better life in America”, says Popiel.  You can follow Jerry Popiel and stay up-to-date on all upcoming music and artist news via the following links.
