This morning, Riot Fest announced their 2025 lineup revealing Green Day, Weezer, and Blink-182 as the headliners. The festival will take place in Chicago’s Douglass Park over the weekend of September 19th-21st.
2025 marks 20 years since Chicago’s first Riot Fest and founder Mike Petryshyn is more amazed than anyone else. “We didn’t plan on making it for 20 years,” Petryshyn said in a recent press release. “We planned on making it through one weekend. But here we are – still loud, still weird, still building something bigger than we ever meant to.”
First taking place over 2 nights at Congress Theatre and headlined by The Dead Kennedys, The Misfits, and Germs, the poster read “The Largest Punk Fest in North America.” Perhaps a bold statement at the time, it was a claim they were able to prove year after year as the festival expanded, moving to a multi-venue format and eventually necessitating a move to Humboldt Park in 2012. Attendance over the years has grown to average 40,000-50,000 people.

In addition to Green Day, Weezer, and Blink-182 being announced as this year’s headliners, the list of iconic acts goes on and on. Names on the bill include Jack White, IDLES, Sex Pistols, All Time Low, “Weird Al” Yankovic, The Beach Boys, and The Linda Lindas, to name a few.
