Bright Eyes with Cursive
Paristown Hall
Louisville, KY
April 24th, 2025
On April 24th, beloved indie rock band Bright Eyes brought their tour with fellow Omaha indie rock band Cursive to Louisville, KY, playing to a packed house. Founded in 1995 by Conor Oberst (singer-songwriter/guitarist), Mike Mogis (multi-instrumentalist/producer), and Nate Walcott (arranger/composer/trumpet/piano), Bright Eyes have amassed a large and loyal fan base over the years. The band released their latest album, Five Dice, All Threes, on September 20th of last year, and started out their set this evening with two songs from the album- “Bells and Whistles” and “El Capitan”. In addition to newer songs, the band performed several classic Bright Eyes songs this evening, including “We Are Nowhere and It’s Now”, “First Day of My Life”, and “Old Soul Song (for the New World Order)” that had everyone in the venue dancing and singing along! Oberst chatted with the crowd throughout the evening, a mix of lighthearted banter and political comments about anti-trans rhetoric and disappearing people in our country, telling the crowd to look out for each other and help each other. Throughout the latter part of the set, the band had Cursive out on stage with them, which brought a fun energy to the evening, with the love and respect the two bands have for each other shining through. Cursive got the crowd warmed up this evening with their opening set and high-energy performance! It was a really fun evening of great music, great energy, and a fun and joyous atmosphere!
