Tens of thousands of revellers will descend on the Isle of Wight next month for the annual Bestival music festival.

Held at Robin Hill Country Park from September 8 – 11, the quirky four-day event promises “an incredible cast of musical pioneers” accompanied by “forward thinking funksters and precognitive pop stars”.

Headliners include The Cure, Major Lazer and Sunday double bill Wiz Khalifa and Sean Paul.

Festival co-founder Rob da Bank promised festivalgoers they would be taken far, far into the future.

“Prepare yourselves for a Bestival unlike any other with futuristic new stages and as ever it’s a broad church of music from every decade and genre,” he said.

This year’s Bestival will feature a brand new stage, the Spaceport, built around a rocket standing more than 20m in its centre.

The laser-loaded mega structure is said to deliver advanced sound and vision and will attract acts including American DJ Diplo, 80s British house and techno DJ Carl Cox and serial rave god Fatboy Slim.

Organisers said it’s not all about the music, however, offering punters the world’s biggest bouncy castle to accommodate more than 100 pleasure-seeking festivalgoers at a time.

There’s also plenty of other action to keep the crowds entertained, with relaxation spaces, morning fitness or yoga, comedy acts, hot tubs, circus acts, a tea and homemade cake tent and a bird sanctuary.

Revellers also won’t go hungry with food on offer from the likes of Le Rac Shack, The Feast Collective, Coco Labelle, Shrimpy and The Rattling Pan.
