On October 26th Dermot Kennedy brought his immense talents to Washington, DC. It was the first night of his US tour, and the fans welcomed him back with open arms. Local musician Kellyn Marie Goler helped get the night started, and together they created a beautiful evening.
“An evening I will not forget”. a lyric Dermot Kennedy sang, and some words left resonating with everyone in the room on that night.
Dermot has a way of vividly painting human emotion through his lyrics. Emotions of love, and loss; life, and death. Each song a dance between two extremes. And with each song comes a different story. A story you can almost place yourself in, and see unfold in front of you. This is a rare talent that Dermot manages to enlist effortlessly.
Absolutely mind blown by the raw talent I saw on stage that night, I can honestly say that he holds a unique gift. Dermot Kennedy is an artist I’ve admired since his early days in Ireland. It’s been inspiring to watch his artistry grow, and blossom into what it is today. It’s easy to say that he is on the way to massive things.
