Album Review: Hit The Lights ‘Just To Get Through To You’

unnamed

Hit The Lights has dropped Just To Get Through To You, their newest EP of acoustic renditions of some of their most popular songs, along with the release of one new track named “Lighthouse”.

This EP is filled with nostalgic melodies that can resonate with both loyal HTL fans and new listeners alike. The songs may have been re-worked acoustically, but they didn’t lose their complexity. Each song retains the original layers of intricate guitar melodies, vocal harmonies, and energetic elements that the original mixes have.

The newest song, “Lighthouse”, is more of a love ballad expressing nostalgic yearning, yet it still fits right in with the rest of the album. This cohesiveness displays the consistency of HTL and their sound throughout the years, but lyrically it sounds more mature and progressive. Just To Get Through To You finds the balance between providing something fresh and nostalgic at the same time, and is sure to be the soundtrack to your summer this year.
